Teen lisäksi juon mielelläni erikoisoluita. Tykkään maistella aina uusia makuja (tosin IPA on ollut pitkään lempimakuni). Ystäväni pitää myös oluiden maistelusta ja harrastaa olutta tekemällä sitä myös itse. Siitä tuli teema tähän korttiin.
Taustalla on olutlehtisestä leikattu oluen prosessikaavio (ollaanhan me molemmat bioprosessitekniikan puolen ihmisiä eli paras mahdollinen tausta!). Päälle leimasin "kemistin" (Tim Holtzin leimasinsetistä "The Chemist" - parhaimpia leimasinostoksia ikinä!), joka vähän niinkuin tutkii oluensa laatua, eikö niin? :)
In addition to tea I like to drink craft beers. I love to taste new flavors (although IPA has long been my favorite type of beer). My friend also likes special beers and he even makes his own beer. So quite naturally, beer became the theme for this card.
In the background is a picture of the beer process cut out of a beer info magazine (we are both people from the are of Bioprocess Engineering, so what background would be better suited for this!). I also stamped a "chemist" (from Tim Holtz's stamp set "The Chemist" - one of the best stamp sets ever bought!), who is sort of examining the quality of the beer, right? :)

Ylänurkkaan leikkasin ja liimasin humalakäpyjä samasta olutlehtisestä.

Yksi koristeista on olutpullon korkki, jossa on sopivasti myös humalakäpy (joka siis antaa oluelle lisää aromia ja säilyvyyttä). Hauska knoppitieto: IPA-olut eli "Indian pale ale" sai nimensä siitä, kun sitä kuljetettiin aikoinaan pitkiä matkoja Iso-Britanniasta Intiaan. Olueeseen oli pitkän matkan takia pakko laittaa paljon humalaa, jotta se säilyisi paremmin. Siksi IPAt on hyvin humaloituja (ja mun mielestä maukkaita!).
One of the decorations is a beer bottle cap, which is also a hop (hop gives the beer more flavor and shelf-life). Fun fact: IPA beer, which means 'Indian Pale ale', got its name from when it was a long time ago transported from Great Britain all the way to India. Because of the long travels, the beer had to contain a lot of hop to preserve it. Therefore, IPA's are a well-hopped (and in my opinion tasty!).
